Aimer's journey into the world of music began at a young age, thanks to her father's influence as a bassist in a band. Growing up surrounded by music, she developed a deep appreciation for various genres and was inspired to pursue her own musical ambitions. Starting with piano lessons in elementary school, Aimer's passion for music continued to grow as she looked up to iconic artists such as Ringo Sheena and Utada Hikaru.

During her years in junior high, Aimer discovered the music of Avril Lavigne, who ignited her interest in guitar playing and writing English lyrics. This newfound inspiration led her to express her emotions and thoughts through her own compositions. Little did she know, this would shape her musical style and pave the way for her future career.

At the age of fifteen, Aimer faced a significant setback when she lost her voice due to overuse of her vocal cords. Determined to overcome this obstacle, she underwent silence therapy to treat her condition. It was during this time of recovery that Aimer's signature husky voice emerged, adding a unique charm to her already captivating vocals.

Aimer's professional career took off when she joined forces with the group Agehasprings, collaborating on writing, producing, and distributing music for various artists. This experience allowed her to hone her skills and contribute to the works of renowned musicians such as Yuki, Mika Nakashima, Flumpool, Superfly, Yuzu, and Genki Rockets.

In May 2011, Aimer released her debut album titled "Your favorite things," showcasing her versatility and passion for different genres. The album featured a diverse range of musical styles, including jazz and country Western influences. Soon after, Aimer began developing her own distinctive brand of pop rock, solidifying her place in the music industry.
