If you're a fan of Eurovision, you'll undoubtedly have heard of Alexander Rybak. Born in Minsk in 1986, Rybak spent most of his youth in Norway. He is something of a jack-of-all-trades, with a career that spans not only singing and songwriting but also acting and instrumental talent on both the violin and piano.

About Alexander Rybak

Alexander Rybak has certainly seen his fair share of success over the years. Perhaps his most famous moment came in 2009 when he entered the Eurovision Song Contest with “Fairytale”. This upbeat and catchy tune quickly captured the hearts of people right across Europe and beyond. Rybak went on to win the contest with a record-breaking 387 points out of a possible 492. This set the bar high, and cemented him as one of the most prolific winners of all time. Even the song itself enjoyed huge commercial success, charting all over Europe and Australia, before peaking at number one in a multitude of countries.

Yet, it wasn't just Eurovision that made Alexander Rybak the household name he is today. He has also released 5 studio albums to date, each of which has done incredibly well in his home country of Norway. His music is characterised by his fantastic voice and virtuoso instrumental ability. Rybak is seemingly able to turn his hand to any style of music and make it sound fantastic. Whether it's fast-paced and upbeat pop or slow, emotional balladry, he always manages to pull it off with effortless panache.

Rybak's instrumental skill is also remarkable. He is a prodigious talent on both the violin and the piano. Whether he is playing a slow, mournful tune or a joyful dancing rhythm, he always has an energy and presence on stage that is infectious and exciting. Indeed, when Rybak performs live, he often becomes the focus of the show, with people being unable to take their eyes off this incredibly talented performer.

Not content with conquering the world of music and performance, Alexander Rybak has also dabbled in acting. He has appeared on both stage and screen, and while his acting career has not been as prolific as his music one, he has always been a striking and captivating presence in whatever production he is involved in.

Recently, Rybak made a return to Eurovision. This year, in 2018, he once again represented Norway in the contest with the song “That's How You Write A Song”. Although he didn't manage to quite clinch the grand prize this time around, his undiminished stage presence and immense talent still thrilled audiences and kept fans clamouring for more.

In short, Alexander Rybak is one of those rare performers who genuinely seems to excel at everything he tries. Whether he is singing a catchy pop song, playing a virtuoso violin solo, or acting on stage or screen, he never fails to captivate and entertain his audience. The future looks very bright indeed for this multi-talented and supremely gifted artist.
