Alien Ant Farm, a band formed by Terry Corso, Dryden Mitchell, Tye Zamora, and Mike Cosgrove, is an American rock band that originated from Riverside, California in 1995. As childhood friends, the group decided to work together and explore their love for music. The name of the band was coined by Corso, inspired by his daydreams of aliens and their involvement with planet Earth. The band has been active throughout the years, having released five studio albums and toured with big names in the industry.

The band's meteoric rise to fame began after they self-released two EPs, which led to the release of their first album entitled, Greatest Hits. This album featured two hit singles, "Movies" and a cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal," which put the band on the map. The band’s cover of "Smooth Criminal" became known worldwide and was a massive hit. Through a friendship with the rock band Papa Roach, Alien Ant Farm was signed to DreamWorks Records, where they released their second album ANThology in 2001.
