About Gunna

Growing up in Atlanta, Gunna was heavily influenced by the city's thriving music scene. He began recording his own music at the young age of 15 and quickly developed a reputation for his unique sound. It wasn't until he signed with Young Stoner Life Records, however, that Gunna began to gain mainstream attention.

Gunna's signature style draws heavily on his ability to blend elements of trap, R&B, and soul, creating a unique sound that sets him apart from his peers. His music explores themes such as love, heartbreak, and the struggles of life in the inner city, offering a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of modern urban life.

Gunna's debut mixtape, Drip Season, was released in 2016 and was an immediate success, earning praise for his unique style and attention to detail. He followed this up with Drip Season 2 in 2017 and Drip Season 3 in 2018, which peaked at number 55 on the Billboard 200.

In 2018, Gunna collaborated with Lil Baby on the mixtape Drip Harder, which featured the hit single "Drip Too Hard." The song quickly became a chart-topping success, peaking at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Gunna continued to build on this momentum with his debut studio album, Drip or Drown 2, which was released in 2019. The album received critical acclaim and debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200, solidifying Gunna's place as one of the most exciting new voices in hip-hop.

Gunned proved he was far from a one-hit-wonder with the release of his sophomore album, WUNNA, in 2020. The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and featured collaborations with the likes of Travis Scott, Roddy Ricch, and Young Thug.

Despite his success as an artist, Gunna has faced several legal challenges in recent years. In 2022, he was among 28 people affiliated with Young Stoner Life Records to be arrested and charged under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). While Gunna was only charged for representing the brand name, prosecutors have cited his lyrics in the case against the label.

Despite these challenges, Gunna remains one of the most exciting and talented rappers in the game. With his unique style and introspective lyrics, he offers a fresh perspective on modern urban life and a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of the inner city.
