Meet Karim Zenoud, better known by his stage name Lacrim. He is a French rapper of Algerian descent. Lacrim's stage name stems from a contraction of "la police criminelle," the criminal police brigade colloquially known as "la Crim'". Born on April 19, 1985, he embarked on his musical journey by collaborating with fellow rapper Mister You, whom he met during his time in prison. Lacrim's personal career truly took off in 2012 with the release of his debut album, "Faites Entrer Lacrim."

Since then, Lacrim has released several albums and mixtapes, including "Toujours Le Même" (2012), "Né Pour Mourir" (2013), "Corleone" (2014), and the mixtapes "R.I.P.R.O Vol. 1" (2015) and "R.I.P.R.O Vol. 2" (2015). Each of these projects achieved gold certification. His music reflects his experiences as a former criminal and his reputation within the rap industry is bolstered by his criminal record and street credibility.

Despite his rising success, Lacrim faced legal troubles that resulted in his incarceration not once, but twice. After evading authorities for five months in Morocco and Spain to witness the birth of his daughter, Lacrim ultimately turned himself in to French authorities. This led to a resurgence of the #FREELACRIM hashtag, with thousands of people in France and around the world showing their support for Lacrim. His reputation as a respected figure in French rap grew stronger during this time.

After spending over a year in prison, Lacrim was released on November 28, 2016. Just two months later, he made his comeback with a web series titled "Force & Honneur," which garnered millions of views. This also served as the title of his highly successful album, which achieved gold certification within a week of its release on March 31, 2017.

In 2017, Lacrim released "R.I.P.R.O. 3" alongside the launch of his own music label, "Plata o Plomo." This third installment in the "R.I.P.R.O." mixtape series achieved platinum certification a month later. In 2018, he dedicated his efforts to his new label, signing artists such as AM La Scampia, Rimkus, Goulag, ALP, Walid, and Guy2Bezbar. While he released various freestyles and collaborations with French and international artists, no project was released.

Despite this, Lacrim announced his upcoming album in December 2018, accompanied by the release of a single, set to be released on February 8, 2019. Fans eagerly await his return as he prepares to deliver new music.
