Lil Wayne may be one of the most famous rappers of our time, but it's his story that makes him perhaps the most interesting. Born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., he hails from the Hollygrove neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. He began his career at the young age of nine, joining Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label and half of The B.G.'z duo with rapper B.G. Wayne really hit his stride in 1997 when he joined Hot Boys, a group that included rappers Juvenile, B.G., and Young Turk. Since then, Lil Wayne has become a household name, known affectionately to his fans as Weezy or Tunechi.
