Bryson Lashun Potts, who is popularly known as NLE Choppa, was born on November 1, 2002, in Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up, Choppa was interested in music and started writing his own lyrics at the age of 14. He originally went by the name YNR Choppa and released a debut mixtape called "No Love Take Over" before changing his name to NLE Choppa.

In 2019, Choppa released a slew of hit singles that quickly gained him popularity, including "Shotta Flow," "Shotta Flow 2," and "ChopBloc." His tracks are characterized by their energetic flow and heavy trap beats, which resonated with fans around the world.

Choppa's success continued to grow throughout 2019 with the release of "Shotta Flow 3," "Camelot," and "Famous Hoes."
