Unfortunately, it was an electric guitar, and there was no amp. Omar then traded it in for an acoustic guitar at a pawn shop, which he eventually learned to play by watching YouTube tutorials.

His first guitar may not have been the best one, but it was the start of his musical journey. At the age of 15, he got his hands on a newer guitar, but it was stolen. It took him a couple of years to get a new one and get back into playing. He then also learned how to sing on YouTube, after receiving criticism on his voice from his dad and friends.

Instead, he attended Indiana University Northwest but quickly realized that he wanted to focus on music instead. He dropped out of university just two weeks into his studies, feeling that he was meant to do something else.
